A Week Away – My Kids’ Camp Experience
I don’t know about you, but much of my walk with the Lord was shaped by teen camps.
There was something about getting away, sleeping in wooden cabins, on bunk beds with lumpy mattresses, that just created an atmosphere where you could open up a bit more.
We always went to Lost Creek Village Christian campground in Naches, Washington. The mornings were crisp, but the day was hot.
In the evenings, we’d have meetings that were fire! My dad would most often speak, and the altar would be full of kids rededicating their lives to Christ and pledging to live for Him.
Those camps created milestones in my life that mark special moments when God did the extraordinary.
That is why my husband and I are so intentional about our kids attending camp each year.
We want them to have those moments as well.

My kids attend a camp on the Sea, where they are able to do a lot of fun activities on the water, like kayaking and inflatable structures.
The team for our teen camps is unmatched in their creativity with games and competitions.
But what is most important is that they have a passion to build in these kids a strong and durable foundation for walking with Christ.
This generation of young people faces pressures that my generation couldn’t have even imagined – added to that the stress of the ever-increasing violence and mass attacks in the schools.
They need to have the strength of the Lord in their lives.
Both of my kids came home with testimonies of what the Lord did in their hearts:
Robi shared with our church how he had been praying that God would help him overcome pride in his life, and he felt the presence of God so strongly that he couldn’t even stand. He knelt down, and the Lord lifted that burden off his heart.
Andrej shared how he went forward for prayer, asking the Lord to help prepare him for water baptism next year.
We want to thank every person who sacrificially gave to help sponsor our kids for camp.
Your financial generosity planted seeds that are bearing fruit in our kids’ lives; it is an eternal investment.
